First step quickness
Multidirectional speed can be broken up into 6 key components all of which can effectively be taught as a skill or trained using a variety of techniques.
These 6 components collectively will make for F.A.S.T.E.R. movement in all directions >>>
We work with a highly experienced physiotherapist who specialises in ‘foot fall’ and ‘gait analysis’. Brett Fletcher employs Gaitscan™, a pioneering technique which can assess and analyse the feet of people who play sport. Gaitscan™ can detect abnormal foot function which may be affecting a player’s feet or other parts of their body.
This analysis gives crucial information about how efficiently a person is using their leg and body movement. It can help identify areas or bad habits that may be affecting a person’s performance or running efficiency, perhaps even triggering muscular imbalance, tightness, aches and pains or sports injuries.
More Information
“Whatever sport you play, your feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body. Like the foundations of your house, your feet support everything above them.
“When a small problem develops in your feet, a subtle change in the way you walk will cause a chain reaction of adjustments in your posture and walking mechanics. This could be the root cause of pain in your feet, ankles, knees, hips, pelvis or lower back.
“Your foot is in contact with the ground for about 0.8 of a second when walking and about 0.25 of a second when running. The Gaitscan™ system records your timing sequences during gait as you walk or run across a pressure plate. This enables us to have a clear picture of your foot mechanics and determine whether your gait is the root cause of your pain.”

Following an assessment, a bespoke treatment plan will be devised which could include home exercises, joint and soft tissue mobilisations or prescription orthotics – bio-mechanical medical devices that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance.
The skills we can transfer are not just designed for the sports pitch but for life in general and can play a key part in a child/young adult’s education.
These programmes can be run alongside your own training agenda during a season or during term time as well as pre-season training.
